Vintage Silk Wrap Skirt

While washing my summer clothes—yes, I’m actually starting to pack away my high-summer items, hoping that’s it for the "summer of the century" that was 2026—I came across a skirt I hadn’t worn at all this summer.

This airy silk wrap skirt would have been ideal on those past hot summer days, but somehow it slipped between the rows of clothes and has thus remained missing to this day.

The wrap skirt is dark blue and features a print depicting a Native American riding or battle scene. Or are those actually Egyptian blue lotuses?

When I discovered it in a second-hand shop one or two years ago, I thought—naturally, without my glasses on—that it was a piece of Chinese art, especially given the high-quality silk; however, my online research revealed that this specific pattern had never appeared on the internet. The skirt's construction reminds me of 1960s patterns, but unfortunately, its origin remains a mystery.

It doesn't bother me at all!

I wore it over a pair of jeans for the first time today, and it certainly won't be the last. Otherwise, of course, I also love wearing it old money style -- on its own combined with a light blouse and ballet flats.
