My Vision For 2026: One New Item per Season!!
My wardrobe is in a constant state of flux, as I am constantly buying new items and getting rid of old ones.
Don't get me wrong: I'm a hunter-gatherer, which means I'm often physically and virtually on the lookout for vintage and second-hand clothing that matches my style.
Since I can't (and don't want to) keep everything I buy, I resell many of my items or donate them to charities, so that I can have a clear conscience when I treat myself to a new piece of clothing. It is obviously much easier if you avoid fast fashion and instead focus on durable quality.
Shoes are a different story. I very rarely find used shoes in good condition, so I almost always buy them new and wear them for many years.
But as you can easily see, despite my good intentions I have a lot of clothes and shoes.
Therefore, my vision for 2026 is to buy only one new item per season. I hope that this will help me focus more on the clothes I already have in my closet, and at the same time give serious thought to what I actually really need and will buy. Or, to put it in Vivienne Westwood's words:
Buy less. Choose well. Make it last.
