Rainy December Sunday with friends
You're probably wondering what the secret to my chili con carne is? Simplicity! This low-carb dish brings family members as well as friends to the table.
Ingredients for 5 servings 🌶️:
- 500 g ground beef
- 500 ml passata (strained tomatoes)
- 400 g kidney beans
- 400 ml beef broth
- 2 bell pepper
- 2 onions
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 pieces dark chocolate (60% cocoa solids)
- Salt, pepper, paprika powder, oregano, cumin
- ½ tsp chili powder
For the pan: 1 tbsp oil
Preparation 🌶️:
- Peel the garlic and onion. Wash the bell pepper and dice it and the onion. Heat the oil in a pan. Press the garlic cloves into the oil and add the onions. Sauté briefly.
- Add the ground beef and brown it, breaking it up into small pieces.
- Add 1 teaspoon each of salt, paprika powder, oregano, cumin, the tomato paste, the chocolate, and the diced bell pepper to the pan. Add chili powder and pepper to taste. Mix everything well.
- Pour in the strained tomatoes and the beef broth. Rinse the kidney beans and add them to the chili con carne. Let it simmer for 60 minutes.
And there it is, the warming stew on the table...
