Fortunately the snowfall yesterday afternoon was very moderate. Nothing that couldn't be fixed with a little road salt.
I decided on my trip this summer and booked the trip and the hotel last night. There are still eight months to go, but I paid a very good price and I'm looking forward to the preparations. This time I will have a lot more time and I hope that I can also visit some of Akin's suggestions. However, I will of course be able to see more of the UK. I think this will be pretty cool.
I've also been to the bookstore and bought the 1929 edition of "The Scottish Clans & Their Tartans".
It's a small but thick hardcover book, 34 pages of informational text, including a two page map of Scotland followed by 192 pages with information of 96 Scottish clans and color pictures of their tartans. We also have 21 pages of ads before and after the text.
Most of the other copies available for purchase are much newer prints.
Inside were six handwritten pages, probably from an unfortunately unknown teacher or professor. The character of the handwriting is not dissimilar to that of my grandmother, I would date it around the 1950s.
It's always exciting to buy and read antique books. My copy is almost a hundred years old, and I ordered another, newer copy so I could read it without fear of damage.
